Harris Community Village is a 66-unit property, along with a 44-bed shelter, located in Tooele, Utah. The 66-unit property is dedicated to families and individuals earning 35% or less of the area median income. The project seeks to be a “homeless prevention facility” to help individuals and families work their way out of poverty. In addition, there is a 44-bed shelter from a repurposed elementary school for homeless individuals. Switchpoint provides a range of critical services for these individuals, such as a 24/7 childcare center and an emergency food pantry to address nutritional needs for residents in crisis. All of this culminates in a warm, inviting community for those who are struggling and provides a springboard for them to overcome poverty.
